Who we are.....
Modern Engineering Works (MEW) has commenced its operations in the year 1993 as an SSI unit. Initially, MEW was engaged only in the production of Barbed wire out of Galvanized Iron wires. Presently, the unit also undertakes manufacturing of Chain link fences, PVC Coated wires, Wire Nails and Cup Hangers.

Distributor of Tata Steel Limited for Tata Wiron & Tata Shaktee
M/s. Tata Steel Limited has appointed MEW as their authorized Distributor for Kerala in 2003 for the distribution of TATA Wiron brand of GI wires. The TATA WIRON brand of GI wires is available in various gauges with high quality zinc coating. TATA Steel is also selling MS Binding Wires through the retail network of MEW.

In April 2009, Tata Steel has once again entrusted the responsibility of distribution of Tata Shaktee brand of Galvanised Corrugated Products in Kerala. The Tata Shaktee brand of GC sheets has a lot of advantages including the availability of wider sheets.

In November 2009 we have been enterusted distributorship of Durashine Colour Coated Sheet of Tata Blue Scope Building Products. These are available in 3 profile Roof, Wall and Tile.

Distributor of Royal Welding Wires Private Limited
M/s. Royal Welding Wires Private Limited has appointed MEW as their authorized distributor for Kerala in 2008. Royal Jacksun brand of welding electrodes are available in all sizes and it has ISI, IBR approvals.

We consider the recognition and acceptance by the customers as the major achievements being in this business field. Apart from this, MEW has bagged “Excellence in Consistence Performance Award 2008” based on its performance in 2007-08 by Tata Steel during distributor meet held at Thailand, “Rajiv Gandhi Youth Entrepreneur Award 2008” to Managing Partner Mr. K.V. Anvar in Mar 2008 by Rajiv Gandhi Youth Foundation, a renowned Kerala NGO, “Best Brand Promotion for FY 09” from M/s. Tata Steel in January 2009 during distributor meet held at Daman, “ Safety Award 2009” from Factories and Boilers department  for outstanding performance in industrial safety and “Outstanding Entrepreneur of the year 2009-10” award to Managing  Partner in June 2010 by Kerala State Small Scale Industries Association Malappuram District Unit
